Marshall Pobst

SCOTT CITY - Marshall Pobst, 79, died July 17, 2002, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 13, 1923, at Lusk Chapel, son of the late Lawrence and Effie Knight Pobst Sr., he was a farmer and member of the Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City.

On Oct. 27, 1951, in Jackson, he married Alice Nadine Jones who preceded him in death on March 4, 1977.

Survivors include: three sons, Jerry Pobst of Cape Girardeau and Randy Pobst and John Pobst of Scott City; one daughter, Katrina Ervin of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Florence Edmonds, Mary Frances Pickens and Pauline Kraft of Cape Girardeau; and four grandchildren.

Two brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Rennie Phillips will officiate.

Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
