PORTAGEVILLE - Annie Lee Garrett, 87, died July 17, 2002, at the Portageville Nursing Center.

Born June 29, 1915, daughter of the late John Arthur and Martha Jane Smith Weed, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Portageville.

On Oct. 12, 1931, she married Thomas Arvin Garrett who preceded her in death on Dec. 16, 1980.

Survivors include: one son, Arvin Jimmy Garrett of Jefferson City; three daughters, Ella Mae Gilmer of Jonesboro, Ark., Betty Barnett of Portageville and Martha Mercer of Ashland, Miss.; two brothers, George B. Weed of Hayti and Willie Weed of Portageville; and 18 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were one brother, Jake Weed; three sisters, Olean Weed, Ruby Mercer and Louise Mercer; and two grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Mark Inman will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
