Carol Crowden

DELTA - Carol Leon Crowden, 69, died at 1:30 a.m. July 17, 2002, at his home.

Born March 15, 1933, in LaMar, Ark., son of the late Mary Crowden Ferguson, he retired as a self-employed farmer and as an inseam trimmer for Florsheim Shoe Company in Chaffee. He was a member of the Little Ole Opry in Burfordville.

On Dec. 3, 1955, he married Nadine King who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Steimle and Stephanie Uhrhan of Chaffee; two brothers, Clayton Lee of Marble Hill and Junior Ferguson of Walden, Ark.; one sister, Kay Cox of Kansas City; and seven grandchildren, including Brian Steimle of Delta who the Crowdens raised, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Ed Rhodes, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Kenyon Cemetery at Delta.

Pallbearers will be: Brian Steimle, Keith Steimle, Derrick Uhrhan, Clayton Lee, Lanney Hampton, Ryan James and Rocky King.
