SIKESTON -- Three Sikeston teens were arrested last week for drug possession.
According to officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, 18-year-old Jody Owens and two juveniles were arrested at about 4 p.m. Wednesday after a traffic stop for no front license plate on a vehicle that had previously eluded officers' attempts to stop it.
Officers searched the driver, Owens, and found a one-ounce bag of marijuana in his coat pocket. Upon searching the car, officers found 14 separate bags of marijuana and two bags of what is believed to be crack cocaine. All were found in the trunk.
The three were taken into custody and the two juveniles were turned over to juvenile authorities. Owens was charged with trafficking a controlled substance and is being held in the Scott County Jail on $150,000 bond.
