EAST PRAIRIE -- Pearl Presley James, 89, died at 9:22 a.m. Aug. 11, 2004, at the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Oct. 28, 1918, at Hornbeak, Tenn., daughter of the late Millard and Daisy Clemons, she had lived in East Prairie most of her life and was of the Baptist belief.
On Dec. 9, 1936, she married C.H. Presley who preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 1984.
She later married Ralph James, who preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husbands, one daughter, Linda Lou Presley; one stepdaughter, Lorene Brent; and one stepgranddaughter also preceded her in death.
Survivors include: one son, Bob Presley of East Prairie; one daughter, Brenda Govro of St. Louis; two stepsons, Calvin Presley of Benton, Ky., and Floyd Presley Sr. of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Hazel Shissler of Shannon, Miss.; two sisters, Lois Cartwright of Sunflower, Miss., and Toots Whitfield of Tiptonville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, 11 stepgrandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several great-stepgrandchildren.
Visitation is after 1 p.m. today until service time at 3 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Jerry Stafford will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
