Maxine Green

NEW MADRID -- Maxine Green, 75, died May 12, 2004, at her home.

Born Dec. 15, 1928, in East Prairie, daughter of the late Sidney H. and Nellie Fern Grounds Grubbs, she was a school cook. A member of the New Madrid American Legion Post 495 Ladies Auxiliary and the New Madrid Eagles Aerie 4206 Ladies Auxliary, she was of the Baptist belief.

Her husband, Harold H. Green, preceded her in death in October 1988.

One son, David L. Watson Sr.; one grandson, Harold Lee Zuck; and four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Survivors include: two daughters, Kathy L. Zuck and Linda J. Tollison of New Madrid; three sons, Ernie D. Green and Harold D. Green of New Madrid and Travis L. Watson Sr. of Palmer, Alaska; one sister, June Kirby of East Prairie; three brothers, Gene Grubbs and Jerry Grubbs of East Prairie and Kenneth Grubbs of Eureka; and 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with Travis Watson Sr., minister of Manna Independent Baptist Church in Palmer, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery near New Madrid.
