Elfreda Moore

EAST PRAIRIE - Elfreda B. Moore, 73, died at 5 a.m. April 25, 2002, at her home.

Born March 25, 1929, in Mississippi County, daughter of the late Otis and Sarah Penrod Black, she lived in Mississippi County all her life. She was a retired receptionist and member of St. James General Baptist Church in East Prairie.

On May 6, 1953, she married Albert Moore who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Walter Terry Moore of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Clella Alice and Terry Bruce McLain of East Prairie; one sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Harold Lemons of East Prairie; and three grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Sarah and Dallas Sherrod and Jeremy McLain of Kansas City and Leslie Smith of East Prairie.

Preceding her in death were three brothers, Clello Black, K.D. Black and Wilford Black; and three sisters, Dorothy Archer, Myrt Walker and Nevada Gores.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday with David Dowdy officiating.

Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Jerry Moore, Lester Moore, Ernest Moore, Richard Moore, Charles Moore, Gary Moore, Winston Moore, Glen Williams, Donald Hendrix, Wayne Hendrix, Sam Walker, Lawrence Black, Mike Thacker and Calvin Lemons.
