Doug Avery

SCOTT CITY - Doug Avery, 54, died at 3 p.m. April 26, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Osceola, Ark.

Born Jan. 8, 1948, at Cape Girardeau, son of the late Harry E. and Ellodee Winemiller Avery, he was a truck driver for Murphy Brothers.

On Nov. 19, 1974, at Scott City, he married Bobbie Wolfe Stubenrauch who preceded him in death July 7, 2000.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include: one daughter, Angela Faye Avery of Boise, Idaho; three stepdaughters, Leslie Simmons, Shelly Huckstep and Sonja Westrich of Scott City; six brothers, Glenn Avery of Washington, Mo., Calvin Avery of Summerville, S.C., Mike Avery of Scott City, and Jeff Avery, Randy Avery and Jimmy Avery of Chaffee; one sister, Sherri Sturm of Scott City; and five stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Rennie Phillips officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
