Dubb Widner

PORTAGEVILLE - J.W. "Dubb" Widner, 84, died Feb. 8, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 6, 1917, in Dell, Ark., son of the late John and Kitty Avitts Widner, he was a farmer and former secretary of the Farm Bureau. A 32nd Degree Mason and York Rite, he was a member of the Oldham Masonic Lodge and First United Methodist Church in Portageville.

On June 26, 1937, at Piggott, Ark., he married Wanna Mullins who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Jerre Turner of Sikeston; two brothers, Guy Leroy Widner of Portageville and David Widner of Columbus, Miss.; two sisters, Lorene Muley of Jonesboro, Ark., and Hazel Ensor of Sikeston; one grandson, John Paul and Stephanie Turner of Marston; and two great-grandchildren, Kallie Turner and William Turner of Marston.

Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where Masonic rites will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Rhoades, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery at Blytheville, Ark.

His nephews will serve as pallbearers.
