Hazel Davis

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Hazel L. Davis, 92, formerly of Commerce, died Aug. 31, 2002, at her home.

Born July 7, 1910, in Cape Girardeau County, daughter of the late Roy "Price" and Rozena Jane O'Guin Knight, she was a cook on a Marquette Cement Company riverboat and member of Bethany Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau.

On Feb. 8, 1930, at Cairo, Ill., she married James Matthew "Mack" Davis who preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1979.

Survivors include: one brother, Roy Lee Knight of Commerce; and one sister, Rosemary McGee of Cape Girardeau.

Three brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

Services were conducted at 10 a.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.

Burial followed in the Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
