SIKESTON - Paul G. Fisher Jr., 81, died March 4, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Nov. 7, 1921, in Sullivan, son of the late Paul G. and Alice L. Fisher Sr., he graduated from Westminster College with a degree in economics.

Fisher was a pilot in the U.S. Marine Corps, flying F4U Corsairs in the South Pacific from 1942-1946 and remained an active pilot until 1995. He moved to Southeast Missouri following his active duty, where he became involved in farming, banking and commercial real estate development in Southeast Missouri and Sullivan.

In 1950, in St. Louis, he married Alice Marlin of Naylor, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul G. and Dr. Peggy Fisher III of Jackson and Mark M. Fisher of Washington, D.C.; three daughters and one son-in-law, Ellen F. Baker of Scottsdale, Ariz., Alice Caroline Fisher of Columbia and Marsha and Bob Hoge of Murphreesboro, Tenn.; two grandchildren, David Baker of Scottsdale and Anna Margaret Hoge of Murphreesboro; and one brother and sister-in-law, Charles L. and Mary Fisher of St. Louis.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.

Pallbearers will be: Mark Fisher, Jack Nelson, Frank Blanton, Bobby David Lowery, Bob Lowery and Gail Kirkpatrick.
