Billy Hunt
EAST PRAIRIE - The Rev. Billy A. Hunt, 65, died at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 27, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born March 7, 1937, in Lee County, Miss., son of the late Carroll and Mamie May Hunt, he lived in East Prairie since 1986 and was assistant pastor at the First Baptist Church in Charleston before retiring.
On March 29, 1984, he married Patsy Jones who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, David Hunt of Nashville, Tenn., and Greg Powell and Bryan Powell of Spokane, Wash.; two daughters, Lisa Hunt Woods of Dresden, Tenn., and Rhonda Lafferty of East Prairie; one brother, Carroll Junior Hunt of East Prairie; two sisters, Polly South and Mary Lee of Fulton, Miss.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, three brothers and five sisters.
Visitation is from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Brian W. Smith, head chaplain for Missouri Delta Medical Center, will officiate with Cecil Hartwick of Charleston assisting as eulogist.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Kenny Hartwick, Willie Brewer, David Jones, Michael Brewer, David Terry and Glenn Hartwick.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Daniel Lafferty, Justin Lafferty, Joe Shockley, Bryan Powell and David Terry Jr.
