SIKESTON - Charles McKinney, 64, died Oct. 24, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Born Nov. 26, 1937, in Vardaman, Miss., son of the late Felix and Ida Thornton McKinney, he lived in Missouri for more than 37 years. He retired from Lewis Bakery and was of the Baptist belief.

On Oct. 29, 1955, he married Bessie Mae Pratt who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: four sons, Curtis McKinney, Jermaine McKinney and Howard McKinney of Sikeston and Timmy McKinney of Marshalltown, Iowa; three daughters, Peggy McKinney and Glenda "Kay" Brown of Sikeston and Tannia McKinney of Marshalltown; one brother, Rinzy Simmons of Calhoun City, Miss.; three sisters, Willie Mae McKinney, Betty Jean Pratt and Christine Wilson of Vardaman; and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Oscar Simmons and M.C. McKinney; and two sisters, Lillian Dobbs and Lubirta Armstrong.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Williams-Farr and Purnell Funeral Home in Sikeston.

Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Beans of Stone Mountain, Ga., officiating.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
