Eugene Ellison

CLARKSBURG - Eugene Monroe Ellison, 83, died March 3, 2003, at the Capital Regional Medical Center in Jefferson City.

Born April 9, 1919, in Bunceton, son of the late William and Frances Lee "Fanny" Callihan Ellison, he was a self-employed convenience store operator, an electrician and retired as a heavy equipment operator for Cooper County. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he had attended school in Bunceton and was of the Methodist belief.

On Nov. 18, 1939, in Boonville, he married Alberta Dick who preceded him in death in March 1999.

Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Mary Ellison of Clarksburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Hazel and Cleo Fethke of Versailles and Laura Pugh of Nixa; and 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son; one daughter, Bonnie Crider in November 1995; one son, Dennis Ray Ellison in 1975; and six brothers and five sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery in Tipton.

Weber and Sons Funeral Home of California, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
