Harold Pullum
DEXTER - Herrell "Harold" Pullum, 78, died Oct. 22, 2002, at the John J. Pershing Veterans Administration Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Dexter, son of the late John Benjamin and Phebia Herrell Pullum, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and owned and operated the Pullum Transfer and Moving Company for 34 years.
On Dec. 26, 2001, at Dexter, he married Betty Snider Acord who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Harold Dean Pullum, David Pullum and Jerry Pullum of Dexter; three daughters, Joyce Dowdy and Alice Moore of Dexter and Judy Stanfield of St. Louis; three stepsons, Jerry Acord of Hillsboro, Stanley Acord of Bloomfield and Stephen Acord of Fort Knox, Ky.; three stepdaughters, Jeanette Layton, Irma Sanders and Laura Acord of Dexter; two brothers, William Pullum of Searcy, Ark., and Eugene Pullum of St. Charles; one sister, Sylvia Stickles of Dexter; and 10 grandchildren 11 stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jon Duane "Wayne" Pullum; two brothers, Junior Pullum and an infant brother; four sisters, Mae Masterson, Jessie Lewis, Ellen Burgess and Julie Pullum; two grandchildren, Ronald Duane Pullum and Teresa Ann Pullum; and one stepgranddaughter, Krystal Riddle.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Roger Fowler will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
