Marvin McClure

PUXICO -- Marvin O. McClure, 83, died Oct. 21, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born May 20, 1919, son of the late Bryan O. and Dorothy Murdoch McClure, he was a 1937 graduate of Puxico High School and lived in California for 50 years before returning to Puxico in 1992. The retired as a real estate broker in Yucca Valley, Calif., where he owned and operated McClure Loan and Investments Co.

His first wife, Ada Beatrice Wallace, preceded him in death. On June 11, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nev., he married Lynetta Kitchen who died on Nov. 15, 1993.

He and Stella Peters were married Jan. 3, 1995, in Upland, Calif., and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Jackie Ray McClure of Upland; one daughter, Dorothy Huegel of Van Buren, Ark.; one sister, Lotus Wilkison of Puxico; and six grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several stepgreat-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends will gather at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at the Puxico Cemetery, where graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. The Rev. Wayne Burchett of Puxico will officiate.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico is in charge of arrangements.
