Robert Smith

SCOTT CITY - Robert Teddy Smith, 71, died Oct. 27, 2002, at his home.

Born March 13, 1931, in Birch Tree, son of the late Robert Oslo and Edith Howard Smith, he was an over-the-road truck driver for Elfrink Lines of Cape Girardeau before retiring. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, member of Teamsters Union Local 574 in Cape Girardeau and was of the Church of Christ belief.

On Oct. 8, 1955, in Lilbourn, he married Mabel Ruth Wiseman who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Barry Allen of Arnold and Terry Smith and Mike Smith of Scott City; one daughter, Lisa McGill of Jackson; one brother, Jerry Smith of Arphadelia, Ga., and Conley Alcorn of Malden; four sisters, JoAnn Singleton of Fulton, Lura Mae Richards of Richland, Wilma Newell of Crown Pointe, Ind., and Sue Christy of Hannibal; and four grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Lola Smith, and one brother.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lightner Memorial Cemetery with Brian McCallister officiating.
