PUXICO -- Fenton H. Langston, 82, died Jan. 23, 2005, at Puxico Nursing Center.

Born Feb. 10, 1922, at Puxico, son of the late John Robert and Eunice Martin Langston, he was a retired farmer and a retired employee of IXL Handle Co. and the Puxico Nursing Center. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Rhineland, Central Europe and European-African Campaigns during World War II. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Puxico.

On Dec. 27, 1943, at Puxico, he married Genevia Doublin, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Howard Langston of DeSoto; four daughters, Linda Wamsley of St. Louis, Judy Richard of Puxico, Mary Langston of Cape Girardeau and Penny Morrow of Wappapello; one brother, John R. Langston Jr. of Puxico; two sisters, Ruth Lederle of St. Louis and Ruby Mickelson of Black River Falls, Wis.; and 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

One daughter, Gale Howard; and five brothers, Loren, Joel, Solomon, Paul and David Langston, preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Johnny Buttry of Puxico will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.
