Helen Hobbs

PUXICO - Helen Hobbs, 82, died Nov. 30, 2002, at her home.

Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Poplar Bluff, daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Coleman Trent, she lived in California before moving to Puxico nine years ago. She attended Hobbs Chapel Church near Puxico.

On Sept. 8, 1940, at Mingo, she married James Hobbs who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one daughter, Jayan VanBurgen of St. Louis; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Sue Landon; one brother, Carl Trent; and one grandson, Gary Tennyson.

Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Hobbs Chapel Church near Puxico with the Rev. Kim Proffer of Poplar Bluff and the Rev. Wiley McGhee of Puxico, officiating.

Burial followed in the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Puxico.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico was in charge of arrangements.
