Jake Beck

SIKESTON - Jacob Thomas "Jake" Beck, 19, died at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 21, 2003, as the result of an injury while working in Poplar Bluff.

Born Sept. 4, 1983, in Cape Girardeau to the late Joe E. Beck Jr. and Lee Ann Napier Beck of Sikeston, he was a 2002 graduate of Sikeston High School and had attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was employed at Backyard Buildings and was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one sister, Stephanie Beck, a student at the University of Missouri in Columbia; his paternal grandfather and stepgrandmother, Joe E. and Peggy Beck Sr. of Okeechobee, Fla.; and maternal grandparents, Howard T. and Rose Napier of Union City, Tenn. Also surviving is a special friend, Mary Matthews of Sikeston.

His father, Joe E. Beck Jr., preceded him in death on Jan. 26, 2001, and his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Dena Beck preceded him in death on Aug. 1, 1985.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Tom Geers, pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
