Irene Allen

EAST PRAIRIE - Olivia "Irene" Allen, 87, died at 6:09 p.m. Nov. 21, 2002, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 8, 1915, in Crosno, daughter of the late Manuel and Octavia Grider Bell, she lived in East Prairie most of her life and was employed by the Sikeston Convalescent Center for 15 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie.

On Dec. 3, 1932, she married Leonda "Doc" Allen who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Betty Allen of Arnold; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty and Duane Eastman of Charleston, Bonnie and Norman Woods and Judy McCann of Sikeston and Joyce and Gus Baltrusaitis of East Prairie; seven grandchildren, Cyndi Adams of Jackson, Teresa Horn, Karen Wray and Michael Woods of Arnold, Kara Still of Caruthersville, Jeff Byrge of Sikeston and Lee Allen McCann of Norfolk, Va.; 11 great-grandchildren, Dustin Woods and D.J. King of Sikeston, Carter Adams and Vickie Adams of Jackson, Madison Friend of Caruthersville, Jennie B. Eastman, Garrison Eastman and Gretchen Eastman of Charleston, Lauren Eastman of Nebraska and Adam Horn and Alicia Horn of Arnold; and two great-great-grandchildren, Paige Adams and Faith Adams of Jackson; one brother, Paul Bell of Bandana, Ky.; and one sister, Alma Doris Archie of Union City, Tenn.

Also preceding her in death were two grandsons, Kent Eastman and Barry Eastman; five brothers, Johnny Bell, Gene Bell, Floyd Bell, Ralph Bell and Manuel Bell Jr.; and two sisters, Gertie Price and Nadine Swan.

Services were conducted Sunday at Shelby Funeral Home with Larry Smith and Burl Britt officiating.

Burial followed in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Carter Adams, D.J. King, Adam Horn, Mark Adams, Rodney Wray and Kevin Still.
