John Jacob
SIKESTON - John Peter Jacob, 76, died Feb. 22, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 17, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., to the late John and Anna Zimmerman Jacob, he had been a barber in the Chicago area and owned and operated John's Barber Shop in Sikeston.
On May 21, 1955, in Franklin Park., Ill., he married Arletta Russell, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: two stepdaughters and a son-in law, Janice and Gene Murphy of Sikeston and Marilyn Deason of Sikeston; one brother, Lawerence Jacob of Franklin Park; three stepgrandsons, Darrell Murphy of Jackson, Russell Murphy of Clarksville, Tenn., and Paul Murphy of Sikeston; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the IOOF Cemetery at Charleston with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of the Murray Lane Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers will be: Gene Murphy, Darrell Murphy, Russell Murphy and Paul Murphy.
