Mary Stevens
BERTRAND - Mary Sue Medlin Stevens, 66, formerly of Dexter and Benton, Ky., died at 7:42 a.m. Sept. 4, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born June 20, 1936, in Bernie, daughter of the late James Henry and Sarah Elizabeth Boyt Stephens, she was employed by Elder Manufacturing in Dexter for many years and retired as a restaurant cook for the Gaslight Square. She was a member of Pleasant Hope Baptist Church in Benton, Ky.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Janell Medlin of Cape Girardeau; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Vondis and Mary Stephens of Wyatt, Jimmy and Pat Stephens of Bethalto, Ill., and Phillip and Hotsumi Stephens of Roxana, Ill.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Deloma and Jack Barber of Sikeston and Janie Marie Stephens of East Prairie; and five grandchildren.
One son, Michael Dean Medlin, preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. Joe McCullough, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Pollard, Ark.
Pallbearers will be: Vic Stephens II, Daniel Barber, Wade Barber, Victor Stephens, David Stephens and Mike Medlin.
