John Barnhart
SIKESTON -- John Barnhart, 67, died Nov. 14, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born May 21, 1935, in Granite City, Ill., son of the late John and Mary Burnett Barnhart, he was veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked as a farmhand before retiring. He was a member of the McGee Chapel near Glen Allen and the Moose Lodge in Litchfield, Ill.
On Feb. 4, 1964, he married Jewell Austin who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Leonard Barnhart of New Madrid; one daughter, Carol Maddox of Sikeston; three brothers, Riley Barnhart of Cape Girardeau, Ervan Barnhart of Arlington, Texas, and Clarence "Butch" Barnhart of Russell, Ark.; one sister, Glenda Hulvey of Marble Hill; and six grandchildren, Paul Maddox, Ryne Maddox, and Mary Maddox of Sikeston and Bethany Barnhart, Kayla Barnhart and Miranda Barnhart of New Madrid.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at McGee Chapel with Clinton Massa officiating.
Burial will follow in the McGee Chapel Cemetery near Glen Allen with full military honors.
