Alpha Freeman

BENTON - Alpha Faye Freeman, 93, died at 1:55 p.m. Jan. 26, 2003, at the Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.

Born April 5, 1909, in Center Ridge, Ark., daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Nutie Halbrook Bryant, she was a member of the Morley Church of Christ.

On May 24, 1925, at Martinville, Ark., she married Lee Ervin Freeman who preceded her in death on May 14, 1977.

Survivors include: one son, Ulyess Freeman of Benton; two daughters, Margie Grant and Dean Schiwitz of Benton; two brothers, Robert Bryant and Verlan Bryant of Malden; two sisters, Macel Sargent of El Sobrante, Calif., and Illa Dean Palladino of Conway, Ark.; and 18 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

One son, one daughter, four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday with Bill Bradley, officiating.

Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
