SIKESTON -- Mr. and Mrs. George Stevens are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today.
Stevens and the former Marlene Starkey were married Feb. 20, 1965, at the St. James Methodist Church in Danville, Ill., when they were both attending nursing school. They moved to Sikeston 31 years ago to open the Sikeston Convalescent Center in 1973. Stevens, who designed the home at Bloomfield and one in Poplar Bluff, is a greeter at the Sikeston Wal-Mart Supercenter. They are members of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston.
They are the parents of two sons, Paul Stevens and Eric Stevens, one daughter, the late Anne Stevens and six grandchildren and three great-
granddaughters.
