Peck Wisdom
SIKESTON - Clyde L. "Peck" Wisdom, 73, died Jan. 25, 2003, at Hunter Acres Caring Center.
Born Feb. 10, 1929, in Crowder, son of the late Hoy and Luttie Whitesell Wisdom, he was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Sikeston. He was a newspaper distributor for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Southeast Missourian in Cape Girardeau, The Commercial Appeal, USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.
On Nov. 5, 1949, he married Treva Williams who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Gale and Shelia Wisdom of Jackson and Clyde and Cherri Wisdom and Greg and Pam Wisdom of Sikeston; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Terry Manes and Nancy and Charlie Driskill of Sikeston; 12 grandchildren, Terry L. Manes and Lori Knox of Essex, Jason Wisdom and Kara Woeltje of Jackson, Annie Wisdom, Katie Wisdom, Josh Wisdom, Ryan Merideth, Ross Merideth and Clayton Driskill of Sikeston, Jered Wisdom of Columbia and Derek Driskill of Dexter; and five great-grandchildren, Regan Manes, Michael Manes and Shawn Knox of Essex, Peyton Driskill of Dexter and Wyatt Merideth of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jennifer Wisdom and Bryan Wisdom; and two brothers.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Allan Basham, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, and Woody Phillips, a minister with the Church of Christ, will officiate.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Terry L. Manes, Jason Wisdom, Jered Wisdom, Ryan Merideth, Josh Wisdom, Ross Merideth, Derek Driskill, Clayton Driskill, Dustin Woeltje and Darrin Knox.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Ervin Taylor, Laverne Rettig, John Garrett, Mack Wheetley and Lee Kenedy.
