Duane Edwards

DEXTER -- Duane Edwards, 23, died Feb. 16, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Born Feb. 14, 1980, at Dexter, son of Kathy Rowe Cato of Dexter and Thomas Edwards of Ripley, Tenn., he was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dexter and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his parents, survivors include: his stepfather, Verl Cato of Dexter; his stepmother, Kelly Edwards of Ripley; one stepson, Devon Hampton of Dexter; one sister, Sara Dollar of Dexter; two half brothers, Jonathan Buck Edwards and Alex Edwards of Ripley; one half sister, Stephanie Edwards of Ripley; and his paternal grandparents, Gene and Shirley Edwards of Dexter.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Vaughn Wright officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
