Nadine Kemp
SPRINGFIELD - Nadine Kemp, 81, formerly of East Prairie, died at 4:15 p.m. Dec. 18, 2002, at the Christian Health Care East Nursing Facility.
Born Feb. 4, 1921, at East Prairie, daughter of the late John Shelby and Lillian Thrasher Kemp, she had lived in Springfield since 1978 where she was a member of St. Paul Methodist Church. An AT&T operator for 37 years before retiring, she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She had taught in the Dogwood School near East Prairie and the Higgerson School in New Madrid County before moving to Cape Girardeau in 1950.
Survivors include: two brothers, Ted Kemp of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Dee Kemp of East Prairie; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation is after 5 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, where services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Burl Britt, officiating.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jeff Kemp, Mike Kemp, Steve Kemp, Drew Kemp, Kyle Kemp and Raymond Ellis.
