DEXTER - A Dexter youth was killed in a Friday afternoon traffic accident that left six other Dexter teens injured. DEXTER - A Dexter youth was killed in a Friday afternoon traffic accident that left six other Dexter teens injured.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred at 3:31 p.m. Friday on Stoddard County Road 612 at Two Mile Road, one mile west of Dexter when a southbound vehicle driven by Thomas Reiker, 16, failed to yield and pulled into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Steven Ulm, 16.

Pronounced dead was 15-year-old Adam Lott, a passenger in Reiker's vehicle. His body was taken to Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Injured in the same vehicle were, Reiker and Abby Reiker, 13, who sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Three Rivers North Campus in Poplar Bluff, and Summer Carter and Aaron Lavender, both 15 and taken to Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter for treatment of minor injuries.

Moderately injured in Ulm's vehicle were Ulm and passenger Greg Ulm, 10. They were both taken to Three Rivers North Campus.

JACKSON - An area man sustained fatal injuries in a one-vehicle accident early Friday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 2:18 a.m. on US 61, two miles north of Jackson when a southbound vehicle driven by 27-year-old Alan Stroup of Cape Girardeau ran off the roadway and struck a concrete embankment before the vehicle came to rest on top of Stroup.

He was air evacuated to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau where he was pronounced dead. The body was taken to Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
