SIKESTON - Roxie M. Emerson Stone, 60, died at 7:14 a.m. Feb. 8, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born July 8, 1942, in Morley to the late John Mac and Ossie May Pratt Emerson, she had been a waitress at the Ramada Inn in Sikeston and was a member of the Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. She enjoyed conversation and cooking for family and friends.
She was formerly married to Gary Stone of East Alton, Ill.
Survivors include: two sons, Mike Stone and Jerry Stone of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jeff Montgomery of Oran; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jerry Mac and Brenda Emerson of Sikeston, Edward Murial and Marilyn Emerson of Biloxi, Miss.; and J. Mason Emerson of Sedalia; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley M. Stidham of Sikeston, Melba and Ralph Hicks of Morley and Lane MaDonna and Brian Huey of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister-in-law, Jill Emerson of Richmond; and two grandsons, Christian and Collin Montgomery of Oran.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Emerson, and four nieces, Liz Hawkins, Tonya Johnson, Maria Hicks and Mackenzie Hicks.
Visitation is scheduled from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until time for services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs, pastor of the Murray Lane Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hawkins, Jeremy Hawkins, Ralph Hicks Jr., Freddie Hicks III, Jamie Parker and Mike Green.
