SIKESTON - R.A. Finley this week sold the well-known Spickerman farm near Mill Creek, a short distance southwest of Fredericktown, to Joe Tetley of Sikeston.
SIKESTON - The Folklores, a local singing group that has attracted much favorable comment during the past months, has the unusual opportunity of appearing on the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour sometime in January - which means national publicity and the beginning of an opportunity to realize all their hard work and preparation.
SIKESTON - If there had been any doubt in anybody's mind, there shouldn't be anymore - its wintertime! Area residents woke up this morning to find snow blanketing nearly everything - and was still coming down. The first flake was reported in Sikeston at approximately 1:45 a.m. However, it was reported that the snow did not begin to fall in some areas of the four-county area until later today. In New Madrid, snow began to fall about 6:30 a.m.
SIKESTON - Four students were recognized for first quarter academic achievement at Heartland Christian School in Sikeston. Recipients were: David Schuchart, for grades 5-8; Maggie Pfefferkorn, for grades K-4, Supervisor's Award; Starla Schoolcraft, for grades 8-12, Supervisor's Award; and Mary Rice, Principal's Award.

NEW MADRID - The cheerleaders for Immaculate Conception School in New Madrid are ready to cheer with the opening of the Fifth and Sixth Grade Catholic School Basketball Tournament in New Madrid. The members of the 1994-95 Saint's cheerleading squad were: Lauren Hunter, Danielle Jackson, Mindy Krebs and Laura Dixie Hunter.
