WYATT - John L. "Johnny" Wicker, 58, died at 3:30 a.m. Feb. 10, 2003, at his home in Wyatt.

Born Oct. 8, 1944, at Cairo, Ill., son of the late Robert B. and Edna Mae McCubbins Wicker Sr., he had lived his entire life in Wyatt where he was a member of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was employed as a tankerman with the Cairo Marine Service at Cairo, Ill., until ill health forced his retirement.

On Aug. 21, 1964, he married Sharon Wilson, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are: one son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Kim Wicker of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Ida and Tim Williams of Festus and Mary and Joey Cross of Wyatt; one brother, Joseph Wicker of Georgia; one sister, Ruth Ann Leffler of Charleston; and seven grandchildren, Michayla Wicker, Allegra Wicker, Brinley Wicker, Joseph Cross, Wendy Cross, Joey Williams and James Williams.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert B. Wicker Jr., Paul Samuel Wicker and Phillip Ray Wicker; and two sisters, Mary Franklin and Jessie Alma Wicker.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. John Wilburn, pastor of the New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church of Wyatt, and the Rev. Kenneth Gibson, pastor of the Living Water Fellowship in Charleston, officiated.

Burial followed in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.

Pallbearers were: Steve Oakley, Robbie Leffler, Shawn Leffler, Rich Williams, James Garner and Dale Ross.
