Helen Blackburn

PUXICO -- Helen Blackburn, 78, died Feb. 10, 2003, at the Three Rivers Healthcare-North Campus in Poplar Bluff.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Clarkton, daughter of the late Huston and Lena Waltrip Champ, she had lived in the Puxico area most of her life and was a retired cook who had worked at restaurants in the Puxico area. She was a member of the Stanfield Baptist Church in Clarkton.

On March 16, 1941, she married Robert Blackburn who preceded her in death on June 13, 1973.

Survivors include: one son, Winfred Blackburn of Puxico; and two grandsons, Brad Blackburn of Puxico and Brian Blackburn of Cape Girardeau.

One grandson, Jerry Blackburn, preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1997.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jack Allen of Clarkton will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
