SIKESTON - Ray Duncan is recovering from injuries sustained recently in a fall from scaffolding at the Bank of Sikeston. In a 10-foot tumble he sustained a fracture of the left wrist and bruises.
BENTON - Scott County landowners are making a concerted effort to establish a Soil and Water Conservation District, K.M. Streeter announced today. Streeter, who farms in Sylvania Township near Painton, went on to say that petitions have been completed in Kelso, Commerce, Sylvania and Richland townships and it is expected the other four Scott County townships petitions will be completed in time for consideration by the State Soil District Commission at its Feb. 11 meeting.

During 1993 National School Counselors Week, Feb. 106, local guidance counselors are hoping to encourage youngsters to visit their offices. The purpose is to recognize school counselors and the important role they play.
