Victor Eaves

EAST PRAIRIE - Victor Eaves, 53, died at 8:55 a.m. Jan. 18, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 13, 1949, in New Madrid County, son of the late James Carlos and Sarah Kate Palmer Eaves, he lived in East Prairie most of his life. He was a chief engineer for the Bunge Towing Company. He served with the U.S. Army 3rd Special Forces with the 12th combat engineering battalion in the Vietnam War. Eaves was awarded the Purple Heart, Parachute Badge and the Vietnamese Honor Jump Wings.

On March 19, 1986, he married Joyce Clark who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: three sons, Clay Eaves and Michael Allred of East Prairie and Nicky Allred of St. Louis; one daughter, Jackie Tuttle of Sikeston; two brothers, James Eaves of Wyatt and Frank Eaves of East Prairie; one sister, Kathy Organ of East Prairie; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
