SIKESTON - Jerry Paul Johnson, 65, died Nov. 28, 2002, at his home.

Born April 3, 1937, at Kennett, son of the late Clifford Doyne and Opal Goldsmith Johnson, he had worked as a track repairman for Burlington-Northern Railroad Company and had been a resident of Sikeston since 1962, moving from Kennett. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Sikeston and attended Temple Baptist Church in Sikeston.

On Sept. 9, 1956, in Hernando, Miss., he married Patricia "Pat" Ann Billington who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul Wayne and Judy Johnson of Sikeston and Jerry Billington and Ann Marie Johnson of New York; one daughter, Diana Lynn Johnson Scapino of Sikeston; three brothers, Leary Johnson of Holly, Mich., Joe Burdin of Rockford, Ill., and Dwight Burdin of North Carolina; three sisters, Myrna Parks, Barbara Davis and Diane Jones of Kennett; and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, one sister and one son-in-law, John Scapino.

Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel where services are scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Marvin Butrum of Sikeston officiating.

Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Paul Rose, Jeff Turner, Kevin Johnson, Justin Scapino, Mark Branson and Bob Wagner.
