Marion Butler
CHARLESTON - Marion Russell Butler, 62, died at 7 a.m. Jan. 19, 2003, at the Bertrand Nursing Facility.
Born July 17, 1940, in Cairo, Ill., son of Afton E. Ollis Butler of Tyler, Texas, and the late Scott R. Butler, he lived in Charleston most of his life and was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
On Dec. 26, 1979, he married Julia Harris who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: one daughter, Leslie Butler of Charleston; two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Stanley R. and Pam Harris of Sikeston and Michael and April Harris of East Prairie; two sisters, Arlene Riddle of Carbondale, Ill., and Anita Dennis of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Mark Butler; and one stepgrandson, Joshua Harris.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 1 p.m. at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Jon Archie, pastor of the Elm Street Baptist Church of Charleston, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Stanley Harris, Michael Harris, Jim Baker, Rodney Shell, Brandon Revelle and Paul Harper.
