Daphna Richardson

PORTAGEVILLE - Daphna Richardson, 90, died Jan. 27, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Nov. 21, 1912, in Hornbeck, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Avery and Mamie Moore Gardner.

On Aug. 22, 1946, in Portageville, she married Paul Delbert Richardson who preceded her in death on Sept. 22, 1980.

Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jerry Scherer of Portageville; two brothers, Avery Garden Jr. of Hayti and Phillip Gardner of Oregon Hill, N.C.; two grandsons and their wives, Chris and Laurie Scherer of Portageville and Allan and Christy Scherer of Tittlist, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren, Brady Scherer of Portageville and Courtney Scherer, Corry Scherer and Cenzey Scherer of Tittlist.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Aibie Gardner, John Christy Gardner and Gayle Gardner.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday with Mike Gardner, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
