Lora Bess
DEXTER - Lora Frances Bess, 95, died Jan. 26, 2003, at Cypress Point Health Care.
Born April 6, 1907, at Palisade, Neb., daughter of the late Harvey Hamilton and Anna Mae McNeil Harrah, she was a member of the First Christian Church in Dexter and retired as a seamstress with Elder Manufacturing.
On April 17, 1926, at Loveland, Colo., she married Everett Carl Bess who preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1985.
Survivors include: one son, Carl Franklin Bess of Southriding, Va.; three daughters, Vera Bess and Sylvia Hill of Dexter and Linda Baker of St. Charles; and 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Homer Harrah, Charles Harrah and her twin, Frank Harrah; and two sisters, Bertha Shafer and Lela Garr.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. Wednesday until service time at 2:30 p.m. at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. The Rev. Vaughn Wright and the Rev. Dan Sitze will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rock Point Cemetery at Swinton.
