Jamers Bell
BLOOMFIELD - James Mansfield Bell Sr., 64, died Dec. 24, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Aug. 24, 1940, in Camden, Tenn., son of the late Leroy and Ruby Hardin Bell, he and his son owned and operated Bell Well Drilling Service. He operated Bell Fireworks in Bloomfield for many years, was a cook for ACBL Barge Line and also operated Jean's Catfish Lake for several years. A veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, he was also a published author.
He was married to Elva Jean Stanfill who survives of Bloomfield.
Other survivors include: three sons, James Bell Jr. of Bell City and James David Bell and Roy Bell of Bloomfield; two daughters, Betty Sandage and Lisa Bell of Bloomfield; three brothers, Bill Bell of Bloomfield, Jerry Bell of Benton and Larry Bell of Midland, Mich.; two sisters, Dorothy Vancleave of Sandburg, Tenn., and Sue Robey of Advance; and 13 grandchildren.
Two sons and one grandchild preceded him in death.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Ledbetter officiating.
Burial followed in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield.
