JACKSON -- Vaudie Hazel Roberts, 86, formerly of Sikeston and Diehlstadt, died Jan. 22, 2003, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

Born March 1, 1916, in Jasper, Ala., daughter of the late Henry Irvin and Martha Jane Simmons Aldridge, she was a former member of Smith Avenue Church of God in Sikeston. She was also a former member of the Circle City Church of God, where her husband had served as pastor.

On Sept. 13, 1941, in Double Springs, Ala., she married Audis E. Roberts who preceded her in death on Oct. 7, 1986.

Survivors include: two sons, Larry Roberts of Carrollton, Ill., and Jerry Roberts of Holyoke, Colo; one daughter, Reba Davenport of Chaffee; two brothers, Alton Aldridge of Grenada, Miss., and Dalton Aldridge of Decatur, Ala.; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Three brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. Monday until service time at 11 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Marty Blakey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Chaffee, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
