Lindell Bagley
MURRAY, Ky. - Lindell Franklin Bagley, 94, died at 10:04 a.m. Jan. 24, 2003, at Lakeway Shores in Murray, Ky.
Born Nov. 20, 1908, in Charelston, Mo., to the late Ira Dow Bagley and Florence Idell Crenshaw Bagley, he graduated from Oran (Mo.) High School. He attended Southeast Missouri State Teachers College in Cape Girardeau, Mo., and graduated from Southwest Missouri Teachers College in Springfield, Mo. Earning his master's degree from Columbia in New York City, he taught in the Missouri school system, was a teacher and principal in Alaska for 18 years and a member and past president of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. During World War II he was a sergeant in the Army serving in Nome, Alaska.
On April 5, 1930, he married Ethel Mathews Bagley, who preceded him in death on Feb. 7, 1997.
Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Stanley and Leslie Bagley.
Survivors include one brother, Ralph Bagley of Winter Park, Fla., and several nieces and nephews.
Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. today at Murray Memorial Gardens Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Norvell, pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens under the direction of Blalock-Coleman and York Funeral Home of Murray.
