Lincoln Avery
SIKESTON - Lincoln Avery, 71, died Dec. 16, 2002, at Hunter Acres Caring Center.
Born Aug. 15, 1931, in Trenton, Tenn., son of Nannie Caldwell of Flint, Mich., and the late R.B. Avery, he was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was employed by the City of Sikeston for many years.
He and Willie Evelyn Martin were married in 1964.
Survivors include: three daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Frank Steele and Kay and Avery Lane of Sikeston and JoAnn and Anthony Ransom of Cape Girardeau; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Freddie and Ernestine Martin of Bakersfield, Calif., and Lincoln A. Avery Jr. of Sikeston; three brothers, Aubrey Avery, Sam Avery and J.D. Avery of Flint; and two sisters, Mary Irvine of Flint and Pearl Jennings of Trenton.
One sister preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday until service time at noon at the Cornerstone Baptist Church. The Rev. L.J. Nabors will officiate.
Burial will follow in Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
