Howard Tillman

LILBOURN - Howard H. Tillman, 89, died Jan. 12, 2003, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born July 16, 1913, in Okolona, Ark., son of the late Joseph Edmond and Blanche Stewart Tillman, he was a member of the Methodist Church in Lilbourn and retired as a self-employed farmer.

On Dec. 22, 1936, at Steele, he married Lydia Deborah Crockett who preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2001.

Survivors include: two sons, Howard Crockett Tillman of Conran and Jerry Francis Tillman of Louisville, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Ann Bateman of Toledo, Ohio; one brother, Rodney Tillman of Hot Springs, Ark.; and five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one son, John Joseph Tillman; and one sister, Tazwell Powell.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home in Lilbourn.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lilbourn Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Reid, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.
