Geneva Moore
CHARLESTON - Geneva Moore, 69, died Jan. 9, 2003, at her home.
Born Jan. 19, 1933, in Charleston, daughter of the late Edward and Flora Bell Wilkerson Moore, she was a lifelong resident of Charleston where she attended Lincoln School. She worked at the Charleston Manor for more than 25 years and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, where she served on the Mothers Board.
Survivors include: three sons, Floyd Chappell of Charleston, Morris Chappell of Sikeston and Norman Chappell of Toledo, Ohio; four daughters, Emma Johnson, Elizabeth Murray, Sharon Chappell and Jeanette Chappell of Charleston; five brothers, William Craven, Robert Moore, Thomas Moore and Leroy Moore of Charleston and Henry Moore of Harvey, Ill.; two sisters, Jennette Hines and Ella Mae Moore of Charleston; and 22 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Curtis Chappell and Alfreddie Pettigrew; one brother, Earnest Moore; and two sisters, Patsy Armstrong and Flora Bell Pierce.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Sparks Funeral Home.
Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday at the Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Tarver officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
