BEDIAS, Texas - Carl Condict, 79, formerly of Carmi, Ill., died at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 14, 2002, in Galveston.

Born Jan. 13, 1923, in Essex, Mo., son of the late Gilbert Earl and Allie Lucinda Davis Condict, he was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a butcher and plastics molder before retiring.

On June 5, 1944, he married Dorothy Maxine Webb who preceded him in death on May 14, 1997.

Survivors include: two daughters, Phyllis Diane Condict of Galveston and Linda Sue Graham of Sikeston, Mo.; one son, Gerald Thomas "Tommy" Condict of Richwood; one brother, Clifford Norman Condict of Bernie, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Clyde Vernon Condict and Earl Condict; and twin sisters.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time at 2 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. The Rev. David Jackson, assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Essex Cemetery.

Campbell Funeral Home of Carmi and Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston are in charge of arrangements.
