Kenneth Dickson
SIKESTON - Kenneth Earl Dickson, 72, died at 10:30 p.m. March 14, 2002, at his home.
Born Sept. 15, 1929, in Sikeston, son of Earline Jones Dickson of Sikeston and the late Robert J. Dickson, he was a paratrooper in Japan with the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. A truck owner and operator for 50 years, he had worked for the Baggett Trucking Company in Birmingham, Ala., and Pullen Brothers Trucking in Sikeston. He was a transportation supervisor for CDTA Driver Training Academy for four years and member of Sikeston Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 3319.
On Oct. 24, 1959, in East Prairie, he married Lova Simmons who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Billie Gail Grimes of Matthews, Robert and Margie Dickson of Virginia Beach, Va., and Kenny and Debbie Grimes of Matthews; two daughters and one son-in-law, Dona and Lonnie Tilley of Puxico and Connie Sue Grimes of Sikeston; two sisters, Shirley Littleton and Ramona Kyle of Sikeston; and 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One son, Kenneth Ray Dickson, and one brother preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday. The Rev. James Trotter of Sikeston will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
