Virginia Creech

SCOTT CITY- Virginia Laura Creech, 93, died Jan. 1, 2003, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Born April 13, 1909, in Canton, daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Sloan, she had taught kindergarten students in Georgetown, Ill., and was a member of the First Christian Church in Cape Girardeau.

On March 9, 1926, at Canton, she married Omer Everett Creech Sr. who preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 1998.

Survivors include: one son, Omer Creech Jr. of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Jacqueline Kelley of Tulsa, Okla.; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Five brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.

No visitation is scheduled.

Private services will be conducted at a later date.

Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Scott City is in charge of arrangements.
