Advance squeaks past Bloomfield

WOODLAND -- Top-seeded Advance survived overtime with Bloomfield to reach Saurday's championship game against second-seeded Woodland.

Advance, which lost a nine-point fourth-quarter lead, squeaked by with a 71-69 win over fifth-seeded Bloomfield.

Jared Ritter scored a game-high 34 points for Advance (2-0), which also received 15 points from Zach Hudson and 11 from Zack Kelley.

Grant Jones paced Bloomfield with 14 points. Advance led throughout, holding a 33-25 lead at halftime and a 46-37 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Bloomfield rallied with a 24-point fourth quarter to send the game into overtime tied 61-61.

Woodland (2-1) had an easier route with a 64-39 semifinal win over third-seeded Leopold. The Cardinals built a 26-19 lead by halftime and took a comfortable 43-30 lead into the fourth quarter.

Luke Johnson, 17 points, led four Cardinals in double figures. Travis Benfield added 16 points, Alex VanGennip had 12 and Chad Hulvey 10.

In consolation play, Zalma defeated Delta 71-50. Chad Wiseman scored 17 points to lead Zalma.

Joey Keys netted a game-high 19 for Delta.
